Wind Farm Projects

Universal Wind Services purchased over 850 tons of wind tower scrap from Destructable in Rolla, ND.  Universal took delivery of all processed scrap metal that was accumulated from the project.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment to process towers into legal loads for transportation.  

Universal Wind Services purchased over 7,400 tons of wind tower scrap from Destructable in Waltham Township, MN.  Universal took delivery of all processed scrap metal that was accumulated from the project.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment to process towers into legal loads for transportation.  

Universal Wind Services purchased over 11,000 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in San Jon, NM.  Universal brokered the sale of all processed scrap metal that was accumulated from the project.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment to process towers into legal loads for transportation.  

Universal Wind Services purchased over 6,400 tons of wind tower scrap from Siemens Gamesa in Amarillo, TX.  Universal supplied all trucks, equipment, and logistics to pick up the various components of processed wind towers.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment to process towers into legal loads for transportation.  Universal brokered the sale of all scrap metal accumulated at the job site. 

Universal Wind Services purchased over 4,950 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in Hermleigh, TX at the Pyron Wind Farm.  Universal purchased all processed scrap metal that was accumulated.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment.  This job took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.

Universal Wind Services purchased over 22,000 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in Fluvanna, TX at the Brazos Wind Farm.  Universal purchased all processed scrap metal that was accumulated.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment.  This job took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.

Universal Wind Services purchased over 9,800 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in Murray County Minnesota in conjunction with the Northern Wind Repower Project.  Universal purchased and/or brokered all processed scrap metal that was accumulated.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment.  This job took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers, which were also supplied by Universal Wind Services.

Universal Wind Services purchased over 12,000 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in Fort Stockton, TX.  Universal brokered the sale of all processed scrap metal that was accumulated from 50 complete wind towers.  This job took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.

Universal Wind Services purchased over 4,300 tons of wind tower scrap from Mortenson Company in Carnegie, OK.  Universal supplied all trucks, equipment, and logistics to pick up the various components of processed wind towers.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment to process towers into legal loads for transportation.  Universal brokered the sale of all scrap metal accumulated at the job site.

Universal Wind Services purchased over 3,700 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in Clear Lake, IA.  Universal supplied all trucks and logistics to pick up the various components at the base of each wind tower.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment to process towers into legal loads for transportation.  The crew supplied by Universal also processed nacelles, where necessary for transportation.  The work was performed at the Cerro Gordo Wind Farm.

Universal Wind Services purchased over 3,700 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction outside of McFadden, WY.  Universal supplied all trucks and logistics to pick up the various components at the base of each wind tower.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment to process towers into legal loads for transportation.  The crew supplied by Universal also processed nacelles, where necessary for transportation.  The work was performed at the Foote Creek Wind Farm.

Universal Wind Services purchased over 37,000 tons of wind tower scrap, including nacelles and towers, from Herling Construction outside of Corpus Christi, TX.  Universal supplied all trucks and logistics to pick up the various components at the base of each wind tower.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  In addition, Universal supplied a crew of professional torch cutters, gases, and equipment to process towers into legal loads for transportation.  The crew supplied by Universal also processed nacelles, where necessary for transportation.  The work was performed at the Gulf Wind Farm.

Universal Wind Services purchased over 3,000 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in Goldendale, WA.  This job was completed in conjunction with Marengo Wind Farm.  Universal supplied all trucks and logistics to pick up the various components at the base of each wind tower.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  The work was performed at the Goodnoe Hills Wind Farm.  These were Vestas generators.

Universal Wind Services purchased over 9,000 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in Dayton, WA.  This job was completed in conjunction with the Goodnoe Hills Wind Farm.  Universal supplied all trucks and logistics to pick up the various components at the base of each wind tower.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  The work was performed at Marengo Wind Farm.  These were Vestas generators.

Universal Wind Services purchased approx. 1,300 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in Algoma, Wisconsin.  Universal supplied all trucks and logistics to pick up the various components at the base of each wind tower.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks and gondola trailers.  The work was performed at Lincoln Wind Energy facility in Algoma, WI.  These wind towers were owned by Wisconsin Energy.  These were Vestas B47 generators.

Universal Wind Services purchased approx. 1,300 tons of wind tower scrap from Herling Construction in Pipestone, Minnesota.  Universal supplied all trucks and logistics to pick up the various components at the base of each wind tower.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  Universal work was performed at Stoneray wind farm.  These were Vestas B47 generators.

Universal Wind Services purchased 60 complete wind towers (approx. 7,000 tons) from Herling Construction in Mendota, Illinois.  Universal supplied all trucks and logistics to pick up the various components at the base of each wind tower.  This took a combination of flatbed trucks, lowboy trucks, and gondola trailers.  The work was performed at the Mendota wind farm.  These were Gamesa G52 generators.

Universal Wind Services purchased directly from GE 136 wind towers with hubs, nacelles, generators, and drivetrains in Sweetwater, Texas.  Universal supplied all labor, equipment, and expertise to dismantle and load all material at the base of each wind tower.  The work was performed at Capricorn Ridge, IV and Sweetwater I & III in Cap Ridge and Sweetwater, TX.  These wind farms are owned by MidAmerican Energy.  These were 1.5 megawatt generators.

Universal Wind Services purchased directly from GE over 280 complete wind tower hubs, nacelles, generators and drivetrains in the Des Moines Iowa area.  This was a MidAmerican repower. Universal supplied all labor, equipment, and expertise to dismantle and load all material at the base of each wind tower.  The work was performed at Century, Intrepid, and Victory Wind Farms owned by MidAmerican Energy.  All were 1.5 megawatt generators.
